Fix suggestions needed

Slightly off topic, but for a FE Fairlane or soon will be.

I have a '67 2 door sedan with a wing/vent window problem. The pin that the window pivots on is broken. I thought about rivets both aluminum and steel both bring concerns. Aluminum wears quickly and steel can promote rust. Does anyone know of a better fix? A small bolt would be not so attractive either. Not much room to work with and rather fragile stuff there.

Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks
Paul W

I think stainless would be the solution.....If you have access to a machinist,it would'nt be a tough item to make. If you dont have a machinist, let me know.I am one,and machine a bunch of stuff from stainless.

Mr. G's has the rivets, see this: http://www.mrgusa.com/pdfs/64rivet.pdf and it's the PA 1768. They are a pain to get peened, so order a couple extras for the possibility that you don't get it to suit you on the first try.

Thanks to all for your answers especially the offer to machine some fasteners, MrGs sounds like the place for me. Now if I can hammer cautiously maybe I won't break anything else.

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to all
