Richmond gear box

Does a Richmond gear 5 speed box fit into a 69 428 Mustang without any cutting to the body for fitment???

Chris, rather than write a book, see the link below. Have same in a '70 Stang but a SBF. Believe the trans placement though is the same for a BBF. I'd use our search function (click match, not date) for Richmond, Doug Nash, 5-Speed, etc. Should find lots of BBF/Richmond posts.

IIRC both old posts and my own experience, the only real impediment is the left side of the trans tunnel. Some minor cutting was needed to the LR of shifter hole as the shift lever (Hurst 5-speed for Richmond/Doug Nash) was offset compared to the OEM Ford placement.

I think the biggest obstacle is that the tranny case is still pretty wide at the point that crossmember/brace goes above it in the tunnel. It's in the way on most Toploader shifters except the Comp+ which is made for that.
