C7ME block acquired

Hello forum,
I purchased a motor and trans out of a stock 68 Mercury Monterrey it also ran before being pulled, just sounded like it had a bad lifter. Anyway, the trans is a C6, no doubt about it. Just wondering about the block. The motor pulled appears to be the original, it had the ID tag on it still covered in muck. The block ID it had was a C7ME. But anyway, assuming it's a 390 C7ME, is there anything hidden in the Mercuury to Ford variances of the 390, or could it just be a stock bones passenger 390. There is no C or A on the back of the block and no cross bolted mains. I haven't taken more than a look than what I listed. Any help is thanked in advance.

No difference Mercury to Ford

The C7ME casting ID on the block outer wall molds appears on 352, 360, 390, 410 and 428 blocks in Ford, Mercury and Ford light truck FE applications. It has no particular significance except that it means you have a 1967 model year or later block. The C7ME marking was only used for a year or two, pretty much gone by the end of '69 model year.

Thanks again. I figured it was a plain jane 390. I will be using it for my next build. But who knows when that will be. I just got this other 390 in an S code 69 Mach 1 and so far the relationship is strengthening. By the way anyone knows if Jay ever came out with his book? Later.
