I got the cylinder head guy to send me some pictures of the head, before he left with it for the PRI show.

No Website, we are going to use dealers. We are not in the engine business, and we were forced into the cylinder head business by the lack of a "race" FE head. Send me your email, and I will send the pictures to you directly, and you can post them. I will include the info I have right now.

It is because you have smaller pictures. But notice the [IMG] next to it?

Thanks for posting the pics they look great. Some top and end pics would be nice when you get around to it.Maybee someday I will build an all out FE drag car when class rules don't pin me down.

thanks for posting! Pretty high tech heads, they look really cool. I like how the ports are "tipped", they look like Profiler pro stock ports! The intake flange sure fits tight, is there any sealer in-between the two pieces? For the rocker mounts are you just going to tap where needed or will the mount use the head bolts to fasten on or is that something T&D is working out, I'm assuming it would be a 1 piece stand across the head like the SB2, Yates, and Dodge Cup rockers?
Looks like some serious side cant, are the pushrods going to clear ok? It looks like I can see where they will go.
I would have liked to see the chamber side better but it looks like a small chamber similar to the Blue Thunder 4.3 head.
Those things should really make some power, well over 1000 N/A I'm sure. I wish you would build that first before the Turbo deal.

The intake flange is machined the same time as the head, so it lines up perfectly. It is doweled also, so it doesnt move.
We are waiting on T&D right now to finish the rockers, and as soon as we have those, we will finish the holddown bolt holes and do a little more relieving in the valvecover area. They have had a head for about 3 weeks now, so we should be getting very close.
The pushrod clearance we will check once we get the rockers back. Its just one of those things you have to wait on. The holes are bigger than they look though.
We may do a N/A motor just to see what kind of power a "427" will make. But, its kind-of hard to justify another 50,000 engine for no reason. The class we were going to run is gone, and the racing we do now is all power-adder stuff. Dont worry though, I have talked to a few people already that want a pair, and should make good power.
I will get some more pictures up after PRI. If you or anyone one else are there, my head will be in the Dart cylinder head booth.

with the port shapes and valve arrangements. The "twisted" intake and exhaust ports look very interesting as well. I also like the rather smallish ports that flow with those high numbers. I would bet that it should have excellent flow velocity. High flow numbers are meaningless without good port velocity IMO.
High flow/no velocity is what we ran into when we modified a edelbrock. I think we ended up with around 410 cfm on the intake, but thats all you had. It was a terrible port, and we had raised the roof up near .750 to get it. Thats why we ended up going this direction. Then you still had the combustion chamber to deal with. We went to a billet after we welded 20lbs (Seriously) of rod onto the top of a edelbrock, burning up the welder in the process, and it still was not enough material to fix the ports, not to mention the rest of the FE heads problems.
These heads are actually "shrunk down" 500" pro-stock ports. We run the SC-1's on a couple of small blocks we have, and they are closer to the canted port/canted valve head that is offered in billet also. They also flow about 470cfm. Since the same guy makes both heads, and the billet SBF canted valve was designed about 3 years after our port, I would say that if anything it is copied from the FE head. Been a long time since a FE was a trendsetter.

expert here but methinks not. The PHR E/M rules over the years have disallowed many an aftermarket head (think of the many GM varities of BBC based Pro-Stock/Comp Elim. heads) that have altered valve angles, intake/exhaust port relocation, etc.
So when these are ready for sale are they going to be made in volume or pair-at-a-time ? What sort of dollars ?
They really look well designed and should make for a huge leap in performance potential. With the kind or power you are talking about imagine a 67 Mustang Pro Mod (Tim Tindle , etc) being competitive with a "correct" engine!
The heads themselves are ready for production right now. T&D has had one of the heads for about 3 weeks now, engineering the rokcer system. We are finishing up the billet valley pan, intake flanges and exhaust flanges. We will be making production runs of them, we plan to make 10 sets first, and as we get deposits, just keep making runs. It takes 3 cnc mills to make them, and many hours of hand work too. We are trying to hammer out final pricing now, as we just ran another set from start to finish to figure up the hours involved. IF you have any questions, or just want to stay informed about the progress, just email me directly
Thanks

We are probably putting the engine in our 1965 Falcon Outlaw 10.5 car. I would rather do a 67 fastback Pro-mod, but I dont think I can talk Ed into it. Still trying though.....
This is another falcon we have....the outlaw car is just like it though..

That's like the dream. The 1950's meets the 21st century. Hell yes!
You and ED got it going on, its great to see this! Its like a cammer without all of the bullshit, Dove this and Frankenstien that. Whats next? How about a 4 valve DOHC Cammer with VVT? I say go for it. That would seriously kick some ass. And it might live through Drag Week and more than a few dyno pulls at 1000 hp N/A.

I am sad to say, this is the last project. If things would have worked out differently, and this would have gotten done back eight years ago when we started it, we had talked about doing a billet SOHC. The only reason we didnt do it, and did a "Medium riser" instead, was class rules, and our cylinder head guy felt this would make more power. Looking back now, I am glad we went with this instead of a SOHC style, even though there is something cool about plug wires stuck thru the valvecover. Of course if someone wants to foot the bill, they guy that did our heads is more than capable and willing to do a SOHC. Its only money....cant take it with you.
