hi guys im trying to remove intake that is aluminum i have all boldts out but it has been sitting for 5 yrs looks like lots blue silicone on corners i have used pry bar to certian extent? dont want to break should i use heat small bloe torch or heat gun do not want to break or chip intake any help would be apreaciated jack??
cut the sealing surface front and rear with a razor knife or a sharpened putty knife, and give it a good whack with a deadblow hammer. If that does'nt do it you can start with the sharpened putty knife aand a hammer to try and break the seal between the head and intake. If you have iron heads keep the blade between the head and the gasket. Mike
jumped out of my shoes once or twice. If they are stubborn I roll them back out of the way and do something else while waiting for gravity to happen. A few made a heck of a pop when they let loose.
but i think the motor was solid rust as i took and lifted it up and all bolts were out of the engine , head bolts and intake and the thing never came off . so i hadto send it away to the dump it was sad
Cut the end seals then try slicing the gaskets. You can hammer a putty knife down and break the seal which is usually at the water crossover ports at front and back.
