I got such a great response to my previous post I thought I would ask a few more bellhousing questions for my own edification.-I have a C5AA-6394A which david kee site says is a 65-67 11 inch clutch version--It has the very prominent "bulge" that I associate with an 11 1/2 bellhousing? I got another C5AA (have to go look at the rest of the part number as it is at home) that has a very slight "bulge". Are these differing bulges associated with clutch size or just a varation betwwen different foundaries??Did david kee get the part numbers (ie A vs B vs D as last letter in part number)mixed up on his website??
I checked the "lesser" bulging belhousing--exact same part number I will go back and look at date codes---exact same number but obviously different--probably happens all the time
Looked date codes may not be much help--the housing with lesser bulge is a real distinct 4G31 the one with larger bulge looks like it was victim to a hammer blow--Maybe 8J20 which fits the date number order but it looks like G920 which is out of order? for a date code--food for thought?
both part number same including the A at the end of part number that is what I thought was odd.--one looks just like the CJ BELLHOUSING FOR 11 1/2 CLUTCH AND THE OTHER DOES NOT---David Kee lists B and D as the 11 1/2 clutch version and A as the 11 inch --somebodys wrong-- just curiosity on my end.
