What's wrong with the ones that you're selling?

Seems like a better bang for your buck at almost half the price. happy.gif

Harland Sharp rockers / Pumpbuilder end stands

December 8 2008, 4:03 AM

I like the Ersons too, but the Good Harland Sharp rockers with Doug's end stands are just as durable and about $100 cheaper. See picture below...

I bought the end stands and spacers from Doug

December 8 2008, 7:26 AM

End Stands from Doug = $125
Spacers from Doug = $40
Harland Sharp Rockers from Summit Racing = $400

Total = $565 for my setup. The Erson setup is $800 I think.

I used stock shafts and four stock center stands. If you need shafts Doug gets $140 for a pair of those.

By the way Doug builds a heck of an oil pump happy.gif

I don't use Doug's rockers because he uses a ball / ball pushrod. That is a waste for me since I have piles of different lengths of ball / cup pushrods. Doug makes a nice rocker, wish he would change to cup style adjusters.

I have Dove HD rocker....

December 8 2008, 8:33 AM

assemblies, (.650+ lift and 600+ 'over the nose'), and have knowledge of several other sets. No issues of any kind! To quote Ray Paquet, "Just put 'em in and forget 'em." I'll second that!!!

I vote Erson

December 8 2008, 6:02 AM

By the time you purchase individual rockers, spacers, stand kits, and shafts you've already met the Erson price.

The other parts have the advantage of being able to acquire them piece by piece, while using some original stuff in the interem. They also freely interchange between each other and stock items for "roadside/trackside service.

The Erson deal is just too easy. The cosmetics approach rudimentary - no plating or anodizing, and square edges on machined stands - but I have them in numerous engines at this point, and the only breakage I've seen is a forum member who has been running them way beyond the design envelope. He may chime in, but they are on a .750+ lift solid roller that runs a full race season. He eventually broke one shaft. And ran with the broken shaft a time or two anyways...scary but impressive.

The only reason the shaft broke was the attaching bolt was a bit to long and bottomed out causing the shaft to flex and eventualy brake. Not the fault of Erson at all.I had no option but to try and run it.Went 2 rounds with no issues they even held the lash setting within a couple thou .Ersons are a good setup. If you want the "resto look" the Dove's may be too bulky to fit under stock CJ

December 8 2008, 10:23 AM

finned aluminum valve covers or the Powered By Ford chrome covers.

Harlan and Ersons will fit with nothing more than a thick v/c gasket in some cases.

If you don't care about a stock look the Dove's are an excellent choice for a bullet-proof

setup.

Dove roller rockers

December 8 2008, 11:14 AM

I just sold a Dove set-up,had issues with adjusters breaking at the lock nut(5 of em) within the first 2 hours of run time.Dove replaced all the adjuster screws with a new pack of screws, but I just didn't trust them.Replaced the whole thing with Ersons,no problems since.
