The Good and the UGLY

December 5 2008, 8:31 PM

I was blown away at the Turkey Rod Run with three Mega-Die Cast Dealers each with easly upwards of a thousand models each. Ugh! the worlds finest 60s Ford FEs in die-cast and the dang things are made in Asia by workers that don't have a clue of what the real car is or what it does. Where are they scaled and who makes the molds?
It's a shame someone can not get the stuff made here at a price that would be competitive on the market. Everything from die-casting to paint and chrome, that's a bunch of jobs we could use here. MADE IN THE USA certainly would make for a truely unique product but the models would likely cost I'd guess three to five times the money and I would not be that surprised if it were ten times the money. Just imagine all the enviromental headaches and red tape in just casting the metal and getting it to to the point of being paint ready.
