Do you have to run a carb spacer on a 69 stock 4 bbl manifold? I know the 69 390 mustang had a spacer with a water jacket but I don't want all that mess, if I need a spacer how thick and what type should I look for?

I like a non-metalic 4 hole as thick as you have hood clearance for the filter.

If you are tight for space...

Edelbrock makes a 4-hole 3/8" spacer (basically a thick gasket). Part #9266, $15 at Summit.

Real cheap.....

is to merely run the OEM water jacketed spacer (if you have it and it's not corroded away) without hooking up the in/out heater hose lines! We even thought of hooking the lines up to a cool can for drag race use....but never did. Didn't think it would be as effective as icing the intake between rounds!
