Need something to ask for X-mas? I've been reading this book. It's chuck full of cool details such as:

Holman Moody built a 63 NASCAR 427 Galaxie with a 10" set back engine and driver to run at LeMans but Ford would not have anything to do with it because FoMoCo wanted all the effort and their money in the GT40 Program. Can you guys imagine if a Trick NASCAR Galaxie ran at LeMans?

In 65 Holman Moody built the Daytona, Sebring and LeMans Test Engines but the actual 427 engines that were run in the GT40s at LeMans were built by FoMoCo.

I recall reading that H/M and SHELBY fielded gt 40 at lemans in 65. Shelby team was upset that FORD supplied the engines without shelby mechanics doing their owm builds--FORD gave the teams no choice in the matter--High number of dnf due to engine failure in that race---Shelby pissed and worried that FORD would throw blame his way when he felt that if SHELBY engines had been used things may have gone better--any way i guess they worked it out as 66 turned it all around

Its a must read for anybody into the Holman and Moody era cars and people that were involved with them. It has a lot of great vintage pictures as well. Put it on your Christmas list ASAP!!!!
