Transmissions

The 67 to 70 Mustangs and Torinos with 390's used 28 spline transmissions. If it is from a 69 or 70 Mustang with 31 splines it is from a 428 CJ or a Boss 429. Get the tag number because if it is a Mustang CJ or Boss 429 trans it would be worth at least twice as much as one from a 390 car.

the guy is pretty sure it is 31 spline. i'll get the tag and casing #'s from him on tues. he also said it could be from a talledaga torino, is this also a possibility?

Possible

It could be. The Torino, Talladega would have a longer tail shaft. The numbers will tell everything.

NOT from a Talladega!

None of the 69 Talladegas had 4 speeds, they were all column shifted C6`s.

rory right auto only. if no tag the length will help.

spline came in all 31/28 small/big in . tag # and length you aren't sure what car it's out of.
