Does anyone know about a fellow named Bob Johnson who had a Maverick that supposedly ran in the high 7's with an FE in it? He had an ad. in Hemmings about four/five years ago trying to sell car. Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wonder too

I asked that a couple months ago and never saw a reply.

Fastest FE doorslammer of all time i'd think.

I talked to him years ago when it ran low 8's and I think it was a 488" Tunnelport at that time.

to find in the phone book. I'd be interested in hearing about that car as well. I like Mavericks, and always wanted to do a FE 4 gear one.

Eureka...we found him!

It says he lives in Eureka... that's half way to Canada from the rest of California. I wonder if he runs it at Samoa? That'd have to be amazing to see!

Samoa is a lost-in-the-50's dragstrip right on a sandbar beach.

To the right of the airport in the center of this shot...

Eureka isn't that big a town and there can't be more than 2000 Johnsons and i betcha not more than 500 of them are Bob, B ,Robert or R Johnson... assuming it's not an unlisted number.
