Re the "additional" 27 units. I would like to know of just one car, who received it in 1964 or where there is one of those cars today. Show me just one.
If I were to make an educated guess where the 127 unit number came from, is if you add up all the 427 conversions that DST did for Ford: that is Fairlanes, Comets, Falcons, and Mustangs.
Yep. All 27 in my garage plus one with your numbers. I was going to wait for the economy to turn a bit before I ebayed them. You would think ONE would have appeared in a 64 or 65 magazine that could not be accounted for in the 100 list?
Maybe they're still sitting in a warehouse over on Trowbridge or Bailey Sts in Dearborn?
The Peacock Blue 63 2Dr HT prototype that went to Tasca, eventually wound up over at Livonia Transmission Plant and was used as a vehicle to test transmissions in. One of these days when the market recovers I'll tell you what really happened to it.
It makes me mad that there are no facts checkers anymore who really sit down and find out whats right and wrong. They print this stuff, guys read it and they believe it to be true. You can't blame the readers, because there it is in black and white so to them it must be true. IMO its a disservice to everyone who reads these articles, the people who actually know the truth and, the people who own these cars. RANT OVER ...lol
I've got to agree. These type of articles spread so much misinformation. Most people read this stuff and thinks it is fact. These so called writers want to take the quick and easy route instead of contacting people like Dennis K. or Larry Davis and get the facts straight. Very lame in my opinion!!!
Dennis write the dag gone book and put these hacks in their place!!!LOL
