distributor mounted timing cover...

seen some old photos of an FE with a magneto or dist. coming out of the timing cover does anyone know who made this Iam running a roots supercharger and it looked like a cool old set up....just wondering if they are still around swap meets ect.....

I've seen that done with a marine timing cover

Nicson used to make them, and in fact there is one on ebay right now, with a buy it now of $150. Search "Nicson".

That eBay one isn't really what I think he means. It's more for a marine water pump or could be used for a mechinal fuel injection pump.

The ones i've seen had the distributor sticking out the left side at an angle. I'm pretty sure they don't work with a stock style water pump or fuel pump. Like this... Mickey thompsons 63...

I've never seen one with the distributor coming out of the side of the cover like that, although I have seen them with the distributor coming straight out the front, like the Nicson cover. I doubt that either of them could be made to work with the factory water pump.

why not just buy a belt-drive front-mount distributor from Jegs?
