Are the C3ae-C heads in the same group as the C1ae-A/C4ae-G(NOT recommended) as
far as upgrading to CJ size hard exhaust seats? Which heads are safe and which
are not?
What about going to CJ valves without the hard seats?

Do a search, there is plenty of information on these heads. Yes, they would work nice with CJ size valves.

if they are 406 heads, they already have CJ exhaust valves.
If they arent machined for spring cups, I wouldnt expect them
to be particularly special.

390, nothing special
November 25 2008, 6:27 PM
They currently have the 2.03/1.55 valves. Ports look like C1ae-A;C4ae-G and the
chambers are pear shaped like C8ae-H. Thought they might make cheap power with the
bigger valves. I've changed my plans and think the tall ports might be lazy on the
bottom end so I went ahead and took a set of C7ae-A heads to my machinist today
to get the bigger stuff instead. Aaron
