question is when to buy. Right now I can get an FX4 loaded for about 38.5K plus tax, title and licence. About 6k off of sticker and 0% for 36 months. That is close to what I paid for my 04'. My friend who is from Dearborn and the son of a ex-Ford exec. says his friends back home say Fords lots are stuffed with vehicles and thinks I should hold up a month or 2. He said we are in "deflation" and prices will continue to drop. Any opinions?

I'm looking at the FX4 model and the King Ranch. Difference seems to be skid plates (optional on the KR) and the leather, KR has fancy stuff.
General options info ;
Crew Cab 6.5' bed (long wheel base)
5.4
3.55 or 3.73 differential
Captains Chairs
Lariat package (on the KR only)
sunroof-take it or leave it
Full blown Sony nav/entertainment/SYNC system
Skid plates on the KR
Heavy duty tow-package
4x4 on the KR-standard on the FX4
6-speed (I think this is standard with the 5.4)
20" wheels
2-tone paint on the FX4 (standard on the KR)
full power package w/ heated /cooled seats in the FX4-(again standard in the KR)
I don't have a printer so I can't print out the list so I'm doing this from memory. Pretty much fully loaded on both however. Most of the good stuff is standard on both models. I'd take delivery in Houston.
Well I 'built' a loaded Lariat using your options and I 'stickered' 3k higher. I......

.....opted for the 25 hundred 'entertainment package, which I didn't think you would need, LOL. Your dealer's 6k reduction beats any plan (A) I personally could get for myself. Zero percent wasn't shown on the Ford site. FYI, we're scheduled to add a shift for the 6-speed to keep up with the added shift at Dearborn. Is it actual or forcasted demand? I don't know, JMO, Rod.
Turns out I can get a 3k rebate in texas but only 2k if I use my home address in seattle. I have been thinking it over and I'm going to sit tight until after the first of the year at least. My 04 only has 52K on it and it's paid for. I was just indulging myself and now is not the time for that.
Just bought an '08 XLT Supercrew, 5.4, 4 X 4, 5.5" bed with most options (no leather). Sticker: 36K. Jacky Jones Ford Price: nearly 13K off of sticker. AND 0% AND Jacky gave me top dollar for my '97 F-150.
You might want to give Jacky a call. I drove from SE TX to N GA to get my truck. It was worth it.
BTW, the '09 Supercrews are six inches longer in the cab---UGLY.
Just sayin'

I would wait because it does not look like the economy is getting any better. Wait and see what happens in the next month concerning the bailout and also the stk mkt. If I had to bet, I would say that truck/SUV prices will drop even further. If you do not need the truck, I would hang onto your cash because things may get worse before they get better.

I checked out and drove a 08 Ford F150 and was freaked by the useless for styling only sheet metal at the trailing edge of the front side windows that blocks the peripheral vision. Granted I'm tall and back the seats away from the wheel but not really all that much, not being able to see ninty degrees to the side w/o leaning forward just nerved me and turned me off to the truck big-time. I felt like I was in a cave looking out.
I don't know about the rest of the country but based on what's on local dealers lots with nothing but extended cabs everywhere is a standard short cab even made any more today in a 3/4 truck?
Toyota said they could order a short cab.
I am currently welding a trailer hitch on your 65 bird. A nice utility trailer with custom paint will be about $3,500, there by saving you at least 32 grand. You'll be the coolest roofer in Texas.
Except I'm thinking about a new Bullitt. So far the dealers around here still think there very rare and are not willing to deal. There's 6 to 12 of them on ebay most of the time. Out of the 5 Ford dealers here; 3 of them have one.
Does any one know of a dealer that "really" want to sell one?
I'm looking for Hunter green with HID lights and NO Sirus/xm radio. [I hate the antenna on the deck lid]

All along the line of wait to buy, bust their chops for lower and lower prices. Now, if we wanted to help Ford, we should all go buy a new Ford something or other right now, at full retail, and buy all the back room add ons, and 72 month financing at 18 percent.
It wil mkae little difference, but as soon as the public sees sales starting up again, there will be a flood of fence sitters entering the market so as not to lose out. And the upward spiral will begin again.
Was a remake of the Flomax commercial but instead of riding together in a vintage Mustang, they all took private jets. They all seemed more preoccupied about their next bathroom stop than any coherent testimony.
Ford just increased the price of the 09' F-150 by $470.00 MSRP. This is the third price increase in three months for Ford products. They like to announce the prices after 6 o'clock on a Friday. I guess they figure the press people are all the bar and miss the news. Ford is really proud of the Taurus so they took the price up $700.00. When you shop for a vehicle on a Ford dealers lot you can find up to a $1200.00 difference on a 2009. The dealer is not gouging,it's just how long he has had it in inventory and how many times the price has been increased. If you think it's confusing for you then you should be a car salesman. The red one is $1200.00 more than the blue one and your having a hard time believing the salesman.
