it might be this old Tasca Mustang.

Lawton's #9 I always thought was one of the cooler long nose SOHC 'Stangs. Nice paint, lettering and the "Mystery 9" moniker.
Heck, I wonder what one of these very rare but fully restored Mustangs would go for today?
$200,000?
$400,000?
???????

I learned a bunch there about the 65 car Bill Ireland had and the Larsen car. It's interesting the consecutive VIN's even though the Brannan car was built first in Dearborn. You'd think the rest of the HM cars would have been produced a lot later.
Are there any such sites on AFX Comets?

Merc A/FX sites like the Ford Mustang site. It may exist but I could never find it. Lots of Comet nitro F/C's here though:

Tom,
More mis information. The VIN's in that article are not all correct.
There were approx. 78,000 units difference between the DST built and the H-M built cars.
The DST built car that went to Brannan was 5F09K302---. Brannan later turned the car in then received a H-M built car 380241.
380240 was the Showcar, that became the second Ronda car, that eventually went to Bill Ireland.
Other misc. inaccuracies in the article also.
Regards,
Dennis
