I know that this is a topic for most guys with a 63/64 Galaxie.
Their use to be a kit to correct the problem with Idler arms
made by MOOG and/or TRW that gave you Bearings and a Sleeve to improve
the life of the Idler Arm.Someone posted a picture of the TRW kit and
I'm hoping he responses,I would like the number of the kit if possible.
I hope I can find one in Columbus next weekend.
Thanks!

Rare Parts makes it...

This kit worked out great for my 64. The original one would get burned from the headers, and that original self centering rubber is done away with. Has grease fittings too. This is where I got mine-

Moog & TWR Idler Kits

November 17 2008, 1:32 PM

I have both, but like the setup from Moog better than the TWR kit. It seems to appear designed a little better and more rugged. The TRW number is shown in the pic. I have the MOOG box at the garage and can get the number tonight or tomorrow if you want it. Geeeez, these things really got expensive! Don't forget to lube them if you install one, AND position the grease fittings so you can access them later..

Moog

November 18 2008, 7:13 AM

The "installed" pic is the Moog unit. Unfortunately, I think I didn't take a pic of the Moog kit before installation. I may still have the instruction sheet though, which shows all the component parts. I'll get the number later this evening, too bust last night.
