Does anybody have a canton oil pan on their motor and how do you like it? It looks like a nice piece to me.

Re: Canton oil pan

I had a Canton 7qt deep sump pan on the 428CJ in my 65 Galaxie for 9 years. It would still be there if #2 rod had not broken at the base of the pin and knocked a hole in the pan rail of the block and the side of the pan.

I'm putting together a new 445ci stroker and it has a new Canton pan and windage tray on it's bottom. By the way, the Canton 7qt Deep Sump pan is the only one I know of that fits the 65-67 Galaxie chassis without modification/fabrication. The other aftermarket pans hit the cross member. jmo. ww

I have two

November 15 2008, 5:18 PM

A road race T pan on my 69 Torino. Fit nicely, no leaks, no clearance problems and during full acceleration and when throwing it into a corner the oil pressure doesn't drop. I bought another Canton pan for my Fairlane. For that car I got the unbaffeled T pan. The build quality looks good on that pan also and I'm sure it will be another winner.

1969 GT Torino original 390 4 speed

If the surf is flat I'll turn a wrench

No interference with the front lip of the xmember?

I trimmed mine back on a 68, under the impression there was a problem.

Canton Pan ...

Used the baffled roadrace pan with windage screen on Evans Gal., had to clearance the crossmember slightly. The fit on the drain plug was really sloppy and even when you get it scary tight it still drips slightly. Probably a onetime FUBAR, but dissapointing. You might want to check for leaks by filling with some solvent before installation. I know I will next time. Mike

Road race pan

Anybody used the road race pan on a 60-64 Galaxie? Fit, ground clearance, etc. OK? This would be for a car that sat pretty low
