This is a spare 390 motor that came out of my 1971 F250 that was crushed by a fallen tree during a wind storm. It only had 20K miles since its last rebuild. I did a refresh on the engine so that I could use in my Mach, temporarily, while the 428 is being rebuilt and later put in the F250 4x4 or hopefully a Galaxie wagon if I can find one at the right price. Needless to say, it was built as a total compromise so it really wont do anything very well. I was hoping for 350 hp but I think Im being overly optimistic. So here are the specifics:

390,.040 over at 9.5 to 1.

C4AE G heads with 1.65 exhaust. New valves and valve job, guides and exhaust seats. I cleaned up and polished the bowls and exhaust ports myself. No additional work was done to the intake ports.

Oregon Cam #1410 profile 218/226 @.050", 262/270 advertised, 509/517 lift 111 lobe sep. Non adjustable rockers, new rocker shafts, end stands, spacers, and valve springs, and a double roller chain.

Streetmaster Intake with a 735 Holley.

Hooker Super Comps with 2.5 exhaust

Factory Dizy with a Petronix kit

Big oil pan, big oil pick up, and HV pump from Precision.

Thanks....

More than that if well tuned

The Gonk says
Torq 416 at 3800
Powr 391 at 5300

That assumes 2 advance on the cam, and those are gross numbers, 60F 29.92 dry air, open headers, optimum timing and jets. I'd guess the muffs would knock off at least 20hp.
Good combo.
