Is there any block prepping needed to run solid cams?

Thanks Royce, another question....

I got a Edelbrock RPM, I was going to use but I did a search on here about cams and the RPM isn't to much popular for the FE. I'm thinking of going to a solid cam. 282S seems to be the popular vote, is it good for the strip also?

I guess it depends on your expectations

The 282S is a really popular cam. It is a torque monster, lots of fun on the street in a 390 or 428. It makes virtually identical peak power to the edelbrock cam but yields better vacuum and better response.

There are better cams for strip only. There are better cams for street only.

I know.....

it's a trade off when it comes to cams. I'll be mostly on the street and ocassionally at the strip. The bossman has a Nova we been messing with at the track and sure would like to spank it's ass at the track, you know the ole Ford vs Chevy thing LOL. I appreciate the opinion. The 294S looks kinda sweet.

You can hear the 282s in my 427. Go to the photos section and look for the post I have there on the 427 video. It may be on the second page by now.
