Just bought a 1962 406 thinking 428 rings would work but I just read the second compression ring is different width. Anyone have a good source for custom made rings? or do I have another option? I,m also looking for 1 C2SE-6090B head.

Are you rebuilding this engine with new pistons? If so won't it matter. Modern pistons are built for common ring packages. Need a little more info....

You've got the old wide seconds, as do the knorb pistons. We looked up sets by size a while back, looking for something to fit one of my 427's that's at .040 with wides, and were able to find something that was close enough to file fit. A good man with a parts catalog (and some imagination) can probably help you out. Might look into if there's an available spacer to allow use of a narrower ring- we used to do that to be able to run a Dykes ring in a 5/64 groove

Call Total Seal in AZ. They make normal file fit Ring sets in ANY size, as well as their Total Seal type.

That will be your best bet unless you can find a set from way back when.
