I have battled Migraines for years but went to my Doctor a few weeks back and he gave me some samples of "RELPAX" and it works! It is extremely expensive but if you suffer migraines it's worth the cost. Just wanted to share and no I don't work for Phizer.
I suffer headaches for days on end, Imitrex makes me sick

I have had to practically stay in bed for two weeks and more than that a couple of times. I get really dizzy pretty much all the time I am moving. The main thing is feeling like I am spinning all the time, and I can't tolerate light. I might go a month and just be kind of dizzy, then bam, I'm in bed with the pillow over my head.
My vision loss doesn't help, and it seems to be getting worse. I can still see a little, shadows and movement primarily, and its a blessing. I had seven eye surgeries and they have pretty much called the game, eventually barring a miracle it will be down to nothing. I have had a migraine for the last two days so I can identify with the agony. I try to get up and get around to get things done but it just gets worse. I am sick right now and about to go to bed. The last MRI shows spots on my brain probably from strokes I have had, not enough showing yet to be ALS, or MS, but I am supposed to take it easy and avoid stress. It is driving me crazy because I love working on something, anything over being idle and stress was fun.
I am seeing my doc on the 11th, I'll ask him. Thanks.
Ask your doctor for a trial of Topamax. That stuff helps reduce the day to day headachs, and for the migraines that come on, try Relpax. You take that one when you feel a migraine coming on. Ask your doctor!
My sister had them for years in the front of the head ..botox injections at the bridge of her nose ( between her eyes)...not one since she started with the injections
You may not believe this but it is true.I suffered from migraine and cluster headaches for maybe 10 years.Nothing helped really well. One day I was hit by a car in a rear end collision and got whiplash. It hurt like a muther for a while but it finally went away and so did my regular headaches.Haven't had one in the last 10 years.I don't suggest anyone get whiplash, but it might be caused by a misalignment in the neck.
Mine started after a rear-end collision and whiplash

I actually have chipped vertebra, and ruptured discs in my neck, two down at the juncture of the c-spine one at the base of my skull no one will touch. The x-rays and images make my wife cry. I get a shot in the spine every few years that is supposed to help, but it didn't stop the headaches. My muscles are still strong, but I am in a lot of pain. I have to make them work by exercise and meditation, and I have to take some mild pain meds which I hate. I have other bad discs in my back from years of throwing beef around and a lot of pain from them. Add to that a bad belly surgery, where the doc cut me open from sternum to navel, wide awake, no anesthetic or warning, and I had to watch it (one of those things its hard to look away from) after I developed an infection from the original surgery. It must be what it feels like for a fish to be gutted alive. Again exercise and meditation. They want me on something stronger for pain, and I do have to take some psych meds, but I am managing it and I won't tolerate having my mind fogged up.
The strokes were from just trying to go on like everything was normal. Now it isn't. I never used to be shy, now I can hardly leave my house anymore, and forget going where a lot of people are. Answering the phone sometimes just is like wanting to crawl under something and hide. I have been hearing suicidal voices for awhile (which I just ignore, Goddamned if I'll go out that way), and have I chronic depression, PTSD, and General Anxiety Disorder (Agoraphobia and extreme startle response) and a very vicious temper. I didn't used to be this way. Just a wreck, a bad belly surgery, a few small strokes, a stressful battle of wills with a comptroller that ended my career, a heat stroke, a serious concussion from getting kicked in the head trying to break up a fight, and losing most of my sight, got me here. Its a bitch, but you have to play the hand of what you are dealt.
There is always hope with every new day. I will not quit, as long as I am breathing. I have a lot of friends here that I have known for a long tome. I have a lovely wife who takes great care of me, and my children. My cat too, she reminds when its time to take my meds(which I think are sorted out all right, still pain but I can think yet). I guess she can pick up on something there. But you guys here do more for me than you'll ever know. Too many people to let down. I do wish these headaches would go away though. The doc says there's nothing they can do, but I am going to ask about the medication.

Re: Way OT but if you suffer migraines ...............

I had blinding migraines as well, it turned out to be a pituitary tumor, the size of a date [the fruit], that was entangled in some blood vessels and pushing on my optic nerve.
I was put on medication and all good now.
Moral of the story: sometimes its not an obvious issue.
robert, i had same thing almost 20 years ago, med they gave me was parlodel, shrunk that sucker to nothing! thank god no operation, on the other hand my brother has been going thru bad headaches for 8+ years now with no relief, docs all think he's crazy, he thinks it is an infection in his sinus bone that is up against the brain. he's running out of docs and ways to get some relief, he's going tomorrow to see a new guy here in northern jersey that hopefully can find something that everybody else has missed. i know these things are way off topic, but sometimes it helps to "throw it out there" and possibly get feedback from similar circumstances from around the country. thanks for reading guys!
