I received the larger magnaflows last week. It took quite a bit of work to get them tucked in. I'd say about 20 hours total, grinding off old welds, shortening the pipes 4" etc.
The mufflers came with a female/female fitting as well, so I had to cut one end off and weld another piece of s/s pipe onto the exit end of the new muffler. Cut the hangers off the old mufflers and welded them onto the new ones.
Tapped the floor pan recesses a little as well to clearance things.
Added more (rubber) isolation to the rear hangers.
The net result;. It's quieter but not as quiet as I'd like.
It seems like the main part of the excess noise is coming from the tailpipe exits, now.
So the next plan is to move forward with the trunk insulation and sound proofing. There is not too much there now.
