Solid Lifter Question

After assembling my 390 stroker and clening up all the empty boxes I noticed the label on my solid lifters say "All Ford V8 Except FE".

Ok now what do I do? I blocked off the lifter oil passages in the block and I'm not oiling threw the pushrods. Will these work or am I setting myself up for failure down the road?

Thanks

Thats why I'm here.LOL

I'm at work so I don't have the part number with me.

They are Bullet lifters, not shell type.

If they are

the "other" lifters ( for motors that oil thru the pushrods) your pushrod length should have been WAY off..like a .100 off, did the adjustments come into the normal location?? It really should not be a problem, if the oil supply is plugged, the lifter will work the same as a std. FE piece. I would revisit the adjusting screw, and RA geometry..

they have pushrod oil feed , FE's don't

but should work fine , you have the oil shut off anyway ....

edit .... John V , I thought the lifter plunger was the same heigth between lifters , after reading your post now I'm doubting myself

FEs oil thru the head, not the pushrod

As long as your valvetrain geometry is good, you're good to go.

Now I know why I needed shorter push rods.
