Date code question

I just picked up a C4AW-B non "N" nodular case with the date 8K15. That one isn't a problem, the problem is the C5AW-4668-C pinion retainer that came with it. The date code I see is either I19 or 119 it's hard to tell.
The guy I got it from said it was from a '69 Boss 429. I suppose it could be with that date code on the case but the pinion retainer is a mystery to me...

Is this a "SPEC" case Barry?

That date code is interesting. I didn't think Ford used "I" at all in the date coding due to the confusion with using the "I" and the "1" together. Hopefully Hawkrod will chime in.

No, the part number is clear.

C5AW-4668-C but the first two digits are different. The middle is definitely a "1" but the first digit is different. I've never seen Ford use an "I" in date codes either.
The date code on the case is also very clear. No "SPEC" anywhere.

Would be able to clear this up. Oh well, it was cheap enough that it can live under the bench for a while.
