I had a good trip to Bakersfield and back. I'm glad i've got to meet a few more forum members and bewildered at how i've managed to miss seeing a few others.
Suggestion here... make FE.com shirts flourescent orange and glow in the dark.

The place was awash in FE's compared to past years. All-FE final in AFX class and several others in that field. There were six Thunderbolts real and replica. Butch Leal was hanging out with the beautiful replica Dave Barcelon had of his Tbolt. Two Cammers in the Cacklefest along with an over 500" MEL (430 Lincoln). There were lots of FE parts there, several intakes in the swap meet, one guy had two low riser 8V's, an M/T crossram and a Latham blower on an FE intake. There was dealer selling new shaft rocker assemblies for various engines and one setup was for the FE.

Lots of people there, Saturday was a huge crowd. Most of the fun is the people you meet there from all over the world. A group from Sweden came by my friends dragster and another Ford guy from New Zealand. The Australians must have had a whole planeload and one was our forum member Craig who was at the Scrap Iron pit along with a few others from here.

If you guys haven't already met John Richmond you are truly missing out, he's a great guy and quite hospitable. Besides there were Cammer parts in the trailer and free beer! The Comet is very cool and nicely done.

It's mainly a dragster event but the doorslammer guys put on a great show and it was noticeable that many of the photographers lining the guardrails didn't leave when they ran as in past years.

There was good variety despite so many Fairlanes which didn't bother me in the least! The Dodges listed included a couple doing great wheelies and a very cool injected Hemi 65 altered wheelbase. The #1 qualifying GTO is a very clean looking car that appears way too stock to run that fast. Far too many had automatics though. We gotta fix that!

Pix in photo section.

I like and respect 4-speeds too but it sounds like a spendy game. I heard what some are investing in clutches and I gagged(silently-no facial expression). Be thankful anyone plays-even auto's. lol.
