6375 Hookers

I bought a set in 1972 to put on my '67 Fairlane. Tried as I may I could not get them to fit into this car. I tried all combinations of ways and there wasn't anyway I could get these on the car. I spoke to Gary Hooker owner of the company and he said they were a generic fit for a Ford I may have to dimple a tube or two. Forward 35 years... building another '67 big block Fairlane, I have this set of brand new 6375's in my basement all these years and I'm older and wiser. Have put other brands headers on these cars by myself without problems, I should be able to to get these on now... WRONG!!!! I still could not get them to fit this car. I took pictures and sent them to HOOKER hoping they would say they are welded wrong, but no answer. Called and asked if the 6375 design was ever changed and I was told it is the original design from day one.
If anyone has any tricks with this header into a 66-67 Fairlane, please let John or myself in on it. I ended up installing KUSTOM HEADERS I bought in 1972 when the HOOKERS would not go on. I can install these by myself with no help in about 2-3 hours.
