Being a veteran of 4 tours in Vietnam I now the feeling of the Brotherhood, I know the understanding of "no one left behind" and "you got my back and dam sure I got yours" not to mention to many leaving in other than smiling faces. I also know how it was coming home in 72 and the mood of the country, and for that reason, I would never turn my back on my brother warrior. I think this country makes a big deal of that now, we support the troops, that should be a given, nothing to brag about, but maybe trying to make up for past wrongs, ( a guilt trip not patriotism).
No I do not fly the flag, nor do I have ribbons on my vehicle. For when I took the oath so many years ago, it was to defend the Constitution, not the flag (a piece of cloth) or the politics of the country at the time (change with the wind). Ive always felt that if we got rid of all the politics and religions of the world we could probably get rid of 99% of the wars. What was the lyric "hate your neighbor but don't forget to say grace".
No its not the first time Brothers have paid respect. Someday visit the Wall, you would be amazed at the number tributes left for those who didnt come home. Everyday they have to collect it all, I guess for the next days offerings, its all cataloged and recorded down to the last penny left. There is also a book on the matter "Offerings at the Wall".
Well thats about the most Ive ever said about that.
Good or bad, Thanx Bill... Sorry if I offended .JMO
