Man, i'd be looking for a way to make the cams act directly on the valves after all that. But stick with it, it's an exciting project.
The bolt hardness thing sounds more logical than temperature, especially at only 30 lbs/ft. Every bolt on all my stuff should have broken with the cold snap we have here now but instead the overworked snow shovel hadn't even lost one.
Some of my FPP/ Dougs rockers had to be honed to even go on the shafts and i've never seen metal transfer with near zero clearance. I prefer them fairly tight to let the rockers become oil restrictors with full pressure and volume to the far end adjusters. It sounds like the shafts are soft. |
