Response to 428CJ will not idle when cold ??

When I lived in Chicago, my daily driver (circa 1980) was a 389 Tri-Power '66 Goat. It ran fantastic, except on rainy or high humidity days when the temp was in the mid 30s to low 40s. The center carb would ice up on the throttle base for a brief minute before it was fully warmed up. You could pop the hood & touch the throttle plate on the center carb, & it would be ice cold even though the rest of the engine felt hot. Of course the 3 open element air cleaners were not designed to help that condition. I don't mean to rub it in, but now here in San Diego, I run with no hot air tube & have the ram air solenoid vacuum line disconnected so I am running full time outside air--runs perfect (just came back from a good 45 minute drive)! Sorry, just had to say it...
