The R castings have extra metal cast along the sides of the center two ports
for GT/CJ manifold side bolts(14-16 pattern). The G is 8 exhaust bolts only.
Also the top of the exhaust port is lower on the R than the G on the sets that I
have. YMMV, Aaron
