Just because fel-pro has a big name doesn't mean it is tops in everything. Years ago I put the "new" racing head gasket in my 351w. Raced the heat and lost water. Put in a new set, lost water in hot laps. Put in new set, water ran out the bottom as I put it in the top. Had the heads checked at machine shop, passed in flying colors. He dusted off an old Victor overhaul kit from off the shelf, and took out head gaskets and gave them to me. That engine ran another two years without loosing a drop till it exploded down the front stretch in an outlaw truck. I showed a fel-pro rep. the three water stained gaskets, his reply was tough luck. Our co. has bought a truck load of gaskets since then. No felpro... tough luck!
