"Somebody in PR needs to get a hold of Legal and tell them to "shut up". At a time when Ford and the US auto industry in general are in desperate need of customers, going after "fan" websites is a very bad idea. These sites are celebrations of the brand and, if anything, are effectively promoting the brand at no cost for Ford. If it were my call, I'd have a PR type/customer engineer assigned to work the big sites and give Ford a proactive presence in the online communities. That sells cars. We personally own 4 Fords and may buy another in the next 12 months. Google on "ford therangerstation.com" and see how much negative publicity is being generated by this action."
