tapping blocks

I live and dream to tap fe blocks--you can enlarge the hole in front of the block enough to use a extension with a socket or sometimes grind down the end of the tap so a 3/8 extension- the square end -will fit but I finally broke down and bought a 5-6 inch long tap and that is the ticket--I got one from ENCO but they are readily available--you do need to tap and check tap and check-- use a distributer and make sure it will pass the plug--some seem to go in deep enough and not into the lifter bore and some I have had to grind on the plug a little. lightly hone the lifter bore afterwards as it will have a burr
