If you plan on using the compressor a lot and cost is not a big concern and want it to last buy an industrial DeVair (used to be called DeVilbis). I have2 5 HP ones that work hard every day and the oldest is 20 years and finally needs valves. They run at low RPM and might last the rest of your life. The cheaper ones have reed valves in them and in heavy use where they get hot the valves will fail. My compressors are well maintained with regular oil changes and clean air filters and also drained daily. We do a lot of sand blasting and glass beading plus air boards and production suffers if a compressor goes down. Good luck.
