This is not a right or left issue. This is about our middle class and how we can help save them. Bill makes some very good points. I live in the Detroit area don't work for any of big three but I have worked in all the plants in South East Michigan. I have seen first hand the jobs they do day after day from putting a bumper on a truck to stamping out fenders. Some easy some not so easy but its a honest living, under fair conditions. Take away the unions and the rest of the US would be working for far less than they are now.
How many here can save enough on their own to retire, pay for your own health care or go on a paid vacation? My guess is without the UAW contracts the rest of the Country would not have that choice. The unions are to heavy but what about the white shirts running the show.
The problem is bigger than two or three car companies and without the help from SAM at this time the worst is yet to come. Oh and this is a lone not a give away. Chrysler got a loan in 1979 and paid it back on time. lets at least give them a fighting chance.
and why not buy AMERICAN for a change.
