the advice, and comments. I guess I already knew the answer but wanted re-enforcing of what I needed to do. I'll do as shoe explained since it's the logical thing to do. As for the magnet, my pan is a deep aluminum TCI unit which I epoxied a magnet to the bottom corner near the drain plug. That's ok for steel particles but does nothing for non-magnetic metals used on thrust washers and bushings. Type F it is and I'll drain it again before I race the car. Thanks again, George
