Response to Good running 69 CJ, car has been sitting for 4 months is there anthing

Tony The motor should be OK but I would remove the sparkplugs and spray some WD-40 in each hole. Crank the motor over without the spark plugs in and get good oil pressure. Does the gas has a stablizer in it? Remove what gas you can and put some fresh gas in the tank. Block off the fuel line to the pump. You don't want gas to go into the motor while you are just cranking it. After you get good oil pressure, install a new set of sparkplugs, (check the gaps) Hook up the fuel line and crank the motor. Don't start it until you have fuel in the carb. Pump the pedal to set the choke. It should fire up. Let it high idle until it reaches operation tempature. Go for a short drive around the area. This will get all the lubercates in the trans and rearend going to the right places. When you get back, change the oil and filter with new stuff. You should be good to go. I would also get a bottle of Lucas oil suppliment to add to the motor. It's a clinging motor oil that helps stop dry starts. Pour this in slow with the new oil being warm. You will need to run the car for this. It stops noisy lifters and rockers. Rick Lake
