Response to I had one.....it got junked.

I am in the process of installing a NV4500 in my 76 250 4x4 behind a 410 or a 428. I have a friend with this trans and it works great. The GM versions from 1992 to 1995 ratios are 6.34/3.44/1.71/1.00/.73 and the dodge all years and GM from 1996 up are 5.61/3.04/1.67/1.00/.73. The dodge version or the 1996 and newer GM have the right bellhousing pattern the 1995 and older GM have the above listed ratios but the bellhousing pattern is different. Advance adapters makes the adapter to bolt to the ford bellhousing using the dodge or late GM trans. I don't have my notes in front of me but you will need a fixed yoke output with a GM input shaft if I remember right so if you get a 2wd trans from a junkyard you will have to change some things or you can buy a new trans from one of the gear shops that specializes in these swaps and they will set it up for you. i am still looking for a used trans but if I don't find one in the next few months I will buy new.
