Slicks on Mustangs

I agree that a 28" slick is about as tall as a stock 69-70 Mustang will hold comfortably, as Jay mentioned, the front of the wheel opening is the closest point. A 9x28" M/T slick shoulfd fit fine, although they actually measure a bit less than 27 1/2" tall. Frankly, with 3.70 gears, I`d be tempted to try the 26" tall M/T`s, I make plenty of 11 second passes on the 8 1/2" x26-15 M/T`s I used to run on my 69 Mach 1. If you think they are too small, they also make a 10x26" slick.
