Never installed one in a Ford, but did install an RV type in a 1966 Jeep CJ-6 w/ a 225 V6. Worked great, but the cam timing was so far off had to move the top sprocket one tooth and install an offset key/dowel (can't remember which) to get it right. Will pull down to a near stop in low/low and crawl over anything with great throttle responce (still using small Rochester 2v).
They also reground a Jeep 230 OHC cam which will go into a hot rod track T someday. Cam is different, as each lobe runs both intake and exhaust so you can't have a split duration/lift cam. Also, cam is hollow and has oil holes drilled in the heel of each lobe so you get a sort of pressure lube to each rocker shoe which slides on the cam. Rockers held in place on the cam using a sheet metal finger holder which also deflects the oil spinning off the cam. High tech in the late '50s for Jeep.
