Response to Ford 9' inch question...

First is if it is a 62 or older truck they did not come with N cases but they did have WAR WAA and WAB cases. N cases came out in 1962 but 62's are rare. Most of what we see are 64 or newer. I do find them in trucks on rare occasions so they are out there. 1972's have them often. Also 1968-1972 trucks also came with 9 3/8 which look like the N case. Next study the pictures at http://www.kevinstang.com/Ninecase.htm . Note the obvious differences with 9 3/8. Next look at the pictures posted above, do you see the "depressions" on the WAR case? On an N case there are no "depressions" below the face. What I mean is, imagine the area where the nuts tighten up against is a plane. There is no part of the casting below this plane only protrusions. On a WAR WAA or WAB case there are depressions below the surface of this plane. The big depression is clearly seen on the pictures above between the two ribs on the right side where they end but there are several over the face. Hope this helps Hawkrod
