I think Ford first introduced unibody construction with the Licoln Zepher in 1936.
I have little experience with these but have been told that they developed rust problems that were structural and problematic in restoration.
Ford's next unibody attempt was in '58 with the T-Bird and the Lincoln again.
(I would emphasize the "I think" because my memory is unreliable...)
