I bought my band from a local transmission shop. Band came in a plain white box, no doubt from the wholesale supply house. Since it was only offered to transmission shops it is assumed that the installer knew what to do. I would not recommend cutting the case for clearance as the case can be a weak point when line pressure is increased, a R servo and a high leverage lever is installed.
