I recently rebuilt a 390 out of a '72 f100 bored .030 over,flat top pistons, 204/214 112 510 cam,new valves,new springs, stock 2 bbl intake and stock exhaust manifolds.rebuilt c6 trans and 3.00 rears(I drive 70 miles to work)
1) hard to get to idle below 10 deg. sounds good when will idle
2) doesn't have hardly any power to speak of. I wasnt looking for a dragtruck but the motor seems to have less power than when it was worn out.
