I can't really understand what you're saying. So, you had a rusty old 68, but bought a better condition 68 with a 302? Now you're going to put a 428 into the 302 car?
Anyway, I've been watching the prices of 68 Fairlanes, because I have one that I bought about 3 years ago. The prices have dropped since then. I paid $3500 for mine, and it has a 289. It was in great condition at the time that I bought it, but not perfect. I've since painted the car and put in new carpet. All it really needs now are new seats, but the ones in it aren't even in bad shape.
If your car is in great shape, the roller is probably worth $4-5k. With a 428, add a couple thousand more.
