In the early smog test days, you could get an exemption sticker for ram-air or a dual point- you could get many a '66 Mustang exempted by dropping in the same Hypo dual point and changing the fender emblems to "289 Hi-Performance"- at least that's what I heard- I would never do such a thing LOL. They weren't watching VIN's very carefully in those days. The stock '69 Boss 302 out back still has it's "EXEMPT" sticker in the windshield
