Specialty (stainless steel ring) head gaskets for the FE?

Hi guys,

I've had numerous questions about the marine FE (300-hp 427) and the best head gasket to use. I've heard about the following two businesses that may have higher grade (and higher priced too) gaskets available for the FE. In the marine application, it's a little more important for corrosion resistance, but even in salt water, there should be NO salt in the block, and if there is anyone out there doing it, they're nuts and an expensive gasket won't help em. The salt water and many fresh water marine systems use a heat exchanger so antifreeze is in the motor block, and salt water only goes through the heat exchanger and never really touches the motor.

Has anyone found a high grade stainless ring head gasket they recommend over the Felpro alternative, silicone and all?

Cometic, which looks like they DO have some specialty gaskets for the FE

Specialty Engine Components, which look mostly like they are into manufacturing lifters

Here's some raw meat, er a photo of solid lifter valve train, for anyone who reads this post

Thanks, regards,

Paul
