The current world economic situation is reflected clearly with this auction. Besides most of the seats being empty I would swag about 35 to 40% lower prices. In the past auctions you would see a few examples (especially Street Rods) where they were bought well below the cost to build. But I saw that all night long and the night before too.
They opened the bidding on the Hemi Coronet at $100K and the 1st bid was $10K. It was a real & rare car that went for $54K! There were two Boss 302's that went for less than $57K.
I use to like Barrett Jackson until they were overtaken by greed. Fake cars were tagged as such until they realized how much they could make if they made them legedimate so they did.
I was amazed last night at the crap they pulled with the Betty Davis "Black Beauty" Mustang. The bidding stopped at $20K which is probably about right. But then that clown Steve with the sun glasses (A Barrett Jackson Officer) jumpd into the bidding and gets it up to $50K then tells the guy he's bidding against "You Can Have It"
